Originally from Colorado, I became a member of the Houston community in 1994. With a theoretical economics degree from Trinity University, I began my career with Morgan Stanley in 1995. In five years, I established wealth management relationships with well over one hundred accounts. I began to develop my method of maintaining a high level of engagement with each client as years pass.

In 2000, I left the firm to offer my clients independent, fee-based investment management. This improved platform served us well in the down market which followed. I received my education as a Certified Financial Planner™ and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® from Rice University. My motivation to receive and maintain these designations is to provide a level of expertise to my clients when examining their overall financial picture. I found myself in clients' living rooms, discussing everything from a possible need for life insurance or a will, to retirement planning - even though I do not "sell" or charge for these services. It occurred to me that I am the only professional in their lives that might point out an important tax savings strategy, for example.

I have spent my career marrying superior investment management with comprehensive personal financial planning. Not only do I want to improve your investment portfolio, but I want to be sure you have a comprehensive, written financial plan in place.

Community service has been important to me my entire life. In Houston I have been happy to work with such organizations as The Depelchin Children's Center, The Museum of Fine Arts, The Leukemia Society and Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers to name a few. Currently, I teach English as a second language in the spring. In the fall, I facilitate a prison outreach program on integrity, responsibility and forgiveness. Personally, I enjoy jogging, kayaking the bayou, meditation and theater.
